Freelance General Translator (Speak Khmer and Chinese)

Overview:

We are seeking a talented and reliable Freelance General Translator proficient in both Khmer and Chinese to assist with language translation and interpretation tasks. As a translator, you will play a crucial role in bridging communication gaps between individuals or groups who speak Khmer and Chinese. This is a freelance position, and the ideal candidate should be able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

1) Translate Written Content:

• Translate documents, articles, emails, and other written materials from Khmer to Chinese and vice versa.
• Ensure accuracy and cultural appropriateness in translations.

2) Provide Interpretation Services:

• Conduct verbal interpretation during meetings, conferences, or other events where Khmer and Chinese speakers are present.
• Maintain clarity and convey the intended message accurately.

3) Research and Terminology Management:

• Stay updated on industry-specific terminology in both Khmer and Chinese.
• Research to understand context and ensure accurate translations.

4) Collaborate with Stakeholders:

• Communicate with clients or project managers to understand project requirements and expectations.
• Collaborate with other team members, if applicable, to ensure consistency in translations.

5) Meet Deadlines:

• Complete translation projects within specified timeframes.
• Manage workload efficiently to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

6) Confidentiality:

• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in both Khmer and Chinese (Mandarin).
• Proven experience as a translator or interpreter.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality translations.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
